About us

A family company with its own workshop.

Brackenfold Builders started as a joinery in 1987. Today twelve people work here: joiners, roofers, two apprentices and an office that answers the phone.

Why we still train apprentices

Good joiners and roofers are hard to find. We train two apprentices at a time, and most of the team learned the trade in this workshop.

On your site you meet people who have worked together for years and know how the others work.

We do not take on more jobs than our own people can do. When we need another trade, we work with the same few firms we have known for a long time.

If a job is not right for us, we say so at the site visit and name someone who does it well.

Timber, done properly, outlasts us all.

We repair before we replace, and when we build new, we build it to be repaired again.
