Practice areas

Advice for private clients and owner managed companies.

We focus on the questions people and small companies bring to a lawyer most often. That keeps us fast, and it keeps our fees predictable.

A dark green panelled double door with a brass handle, set in a pale wall.

Six areas of law, one lawyer in charge of each matter.

What we advise on, how we charge for it and whether legal expenses insurance usually pays. Where a case touches two areas, two of us work on it together.

Fees follow the statutory fee scale unless we agree otherwise in writing before we start.

We read the documents before we give an opinion.

A good first assessment needs the contract, the letters and the dates. Bring what you have and we tell you where you stand.

Questions about costs and the first meeting

Something missing? Call us during office hours and we answer it on the phone.

What does the first meeting cost?

The first meeting takes up to one hour and has a fixed fee, which we tell you when you book. If you instruct us afterwards, we credit it against the fee of the matter.

Should I bring documents?

Yes. Bring copies of contracts, letters, notices and anything with a date on it. Please do not send documents by email before we have agreed a secure way to share them.

Does my legal expenses insurance pay?

Often, yes. Many legal expenses insurance policies cover employment and tenancy matters. We ask your insurer for cover before we start, at no extra charge.

Can we meet by video call?

Yes. We meet clients in our office, by phone and by video call, and we advise in English and German.

How do you charge for a matter?

Fixed fees for clearly defined work, hourly rates with an agreed cap for disputes. You receive the estimate in writing before any work begins.

First meeting

Tell us briefly what it is about.

A few sentences on the phone are enough for us to check for conflicts of interest and to match you with the right lawyer.

Office hours Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 17:30. Urgent deadlines also by phone outside these hours.
