Plain words first. If a page is hard to understand, tell us and we rewrite it.
Every service page is checked against our plain language rules before it goes online.
Online, by post or in person
Many services work online with your identity card and its PIN. Your user account shows the state of every application.
If you cannot or do not want to use the online service, the same forms are available on paper at every office and can be sent by post.
Some services need you in person, for example a new identity card, because we take your fingerprints. Book an appointment for those.
Need help with a form? Staff at the service desk fill it in with you. Sign language interpreters can be booked free of charge.
Questions about services
Your question is not here? Ask the service desk.
How long does an application take?
Most applications are decided within two weeks. Each service page names the usual time.
Can someone else come for me?
For many services, yes, with a signed authorisation and your identity card. The service page says when you have to come yourself.
Which documents do I need?
Each service page has a list. Bring the originals; we make the copies at the office.
Can I pay by card?
Yes. Every office takes debit and credit cards. The citizens' office also takes cash.
What does a service cost?
Fees are set by law or by the municipal fee schedule. Each service page shows the current fee.
Service desk
